The Role & Project Overview
Route Presbytery is one of 19 in the Presbyterian Church in Ireland and covers the area from Ballycastle to Bushmills, to Ballymoney and back again. The 20 congregations are spread throughout the presbytery and each have a long history of seeking to see children, young people, and young adults come to know, follow, and serve Jesus.
At a time when there are many challenges to congregations, the presbytery has committed to a positive and exciting joint vision. A new project has already begun with gatherings of young adults from across the area. The "Walking With..." events are the start of this broader initiative.
This post enables the coordination of an exciting new project to support the fellowship and discipleship of young adults in the area, and to facilitate a young leaders' programme. It will also support a team of young adults to develop a new joint project for young people across the presbytery.
To make this project work, we need an enthusiastic, organised person with a mature faith in Jesus who understands the churches in this area. The Coordinator of Youth and Young Adult Ministry will have the ability to equip and enable young adults as they grow in their faith and develop this exciting vision.
Provide a regular space for worship, discipleship, and fellowship for young adults in the area.
Develop leaders and equip them to impact for Jesus in their churches, workplaces, colleges, and friendship circles.
Support young adults to run regular events where young people from across Route can further explore faith in Jesus.
